Picture the scene…

Have you ever been driving along a country road or through town, the low late-afternoon sun casting its warmth across everything you can see?

Long, dramatic shadows stretch out as far as the eye can see and every tree or building has taken on a warm glow, even if there’s a chill in the air.

It feels like you’re in a music video, and you imagine the alternate reality where you’re selling out gig venues up and down the country? Ok, that last part might just be me!

The mood that low sun gives is perfect for imagining fake music videos engagement photoshoots.

Afternoon or morning?

And it’s not just the afternoon that has this dreamy effect in your wedding preshoot photos. The morning works just just as well, and has the added bonus of often being a little quieter — especially if we head into town for a less rural vibe.. A Sunday morning before the shops open is a great time for a town centre engagement photoshoot.

What if the weather is bad?

It goes without saying that, for engagement photos in Cheshire, we’re not always blessed with clear skies, so planning for right on sunrise or sunset isn’t always the best bet.

What time should we meet?

Around an hour after sunrise is a good time to start, if we’re going for a morning preshoot, but if you’d rather go for late afternoon, starting around two to two and a half hours before sunset works well.
